January 27th Planning for Prosperity Symposium Expected to Draw a Big Turnout
The Hancock County Planning Commission is pleased to announce that the Regional Growth Symposium titled "Planning for Prosperity" has exceeded registration projections. The number of participants planning to attend Saturday’s symposium sailed passed the 100 mark, with representatives from many Hancock County towns and offices of state government. The deadline has passed for registration, but the media and press are encouraged cover this important event.
This one-day public event will bring the County together to identify opportunities for the future of our communities. Persons attending the symposium will discuss important issues confronting the county in land use, the economy and transportation. Participants will also draft a vision for Hancock County, including strategies for building a more prosperous future.
Dr. Charles Colgan, Professor at the University of Southern Maine will deliver a lunch time presentation on state and regional economic trends with examples of proactive community efforts in other parts of Maine and the U.S. to enhance local economies and quality of life.
